So
Michael Jackson is dead and I could not give a rat’s ass.
Seriously, lets put it into perspective. Rough estimates
put U.S. deaths at roughly 7,000 people per day, and
somewhere in the range of 250,000 to 300,000 people
worldwide. Yet this thrice accused, drug addles pedophile
is getting a send off and news coverage worthy of the
second coming of Christ. He was just a man, and a very
troubled one at that. No one is really looking at the true
tragedy of the whole thing, and that is the fact that
Jackson was such a cash cow, with so many leaches milking
him that no one cared that he was slowly killing himself
with illegal narcotics.
Now they are selling tickets to his “memorial” at staples
center in LA for what the media has dubbed “America’s
Princess Diana.” (Cue barfing sound). It seems that in
death, Jackson is still good for filling the coffers at his
expense by his supposed “loved ones.” What a joke. There
were tickets to this event selling on EBay for $20,000.
Come on people. Is this what it has come to? What about all
of the police presence that will be needed to quell rioting
fans that are sure to inundate the Los Angeles area? Who is
going to foot the bill for this brew-ha-ha? The ever
reliable tax payer.
So it goes, all over the media, they are flogging this
whole thing to death ad nauseam and I'm sick of it. No
matter how hard I tried, I could not find any mention of
the seven American soldiers killed in Afghanistan by the
Taliban murderers on Monday. Where is the outcry? Where is
the nationwide sorrow for these nameless and unappreciated
young men who died fighting what the Obama administration
refuses to refer to as the “War on Terror?” It is
sickening.
Somewhere in America there are mothers, fathers, sisters,
and brothers mourning for these brave young men and waiting
for the C130 to deliver the flag ensconced metal caskets
back to their homeland, far from where they were
unceremoniously killed without so much of a blip on
America’s radar. We should all be ashamed of this. I will
mourn these great and heroic men. There deaths will not go
unnoticed in my house. Perhaps that is all we can do as a
society is appreciate and mourn men like this while the
majority, it seems, has their collective heads up their
asses.
Whatever the case, and whether or not you agree with me,
please hang your head in a moment of silence for not only
these men, but the past, present, and future defenders who
will give their lives for a society that refuses to
recognize their sacrifices. Please take a minute and
remember them in a moment of silence today.
